Brent Buttjer Announces New Professional Journey with Letterman Creative
DES MOINES, Iowa – After more than three decades of dedication to high school activities and athletics, Brent Buttjer is embarking on a new chapter in his career. Buttjer has been named Business Development Specialist with Letterman Creative, a Lashier Group company, where he will focus on school logo, brand, and product development.
“I am thrilled to join the Lashier and Letterman Creative team as a Business Development Specialist in their school logo, brand, and product development division,” Buttjer said. “I have been involved with some big logo and brand development projects for more than three decades in education and have a passion for helping schools and communities find joy in their new and existing brands.”
Buttjer’s career in education is a testament to his unwavering commitment to students, staff, and the power of school spirit. Over the past 33 years, he has played an instrumental role in shaping memorable experiences for countless students across Iowa.
Most recently, Buttjer served six years as the Activities Director at Dallas Center-Grimes Community School District. Prior to his time with the Mustangs, he held leadership roles as Activities Director at Ankeny High School and Fort Madison High School, and earlier served as a teacher and coach in the North Scott Community School District.
“Brent Buttjer has made his mark with school district leaders in Iowa and the midwest,” shared Lashier Group CEO Andy Lashier. “Brent is a student-focused leader that has the experience and relationships to elevate communities through his unique lens.”
Buttjer’s leadership extends beyond his school communities. He has held several state-level leadership positions and earned multiple honors, including:
● 2024 IGCA Softball Administrator of the Year
● 2023 Central District Administrator of the Year
● President of the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association (2023–24)
● 2022 IGCA Basketball Administrator of the Year
Reflecting on his career, Buttjer emphasized his continued commitment to education and community: “I’m a firm believer that activities play a crucial role in the overall success of a school district. It’s been the honor of a lifetime to serve as a partner in this work, and now it’s time to serve those leaders that were in my shoes.”
